TU Graz: Postdoc position in remote sensing of the cryosphere

I am offering a research scientist / Postdoc position in the field of glacier remote sensing. The candidate will mainly work within the Dragon 5 project “Detailed contemporary glacier changes in High Mountain Asia using multi-source satellite data“ supported by ESA (https://dragon5.esa.int/). The main aim of this project is to (further) develop methods and algorithms to monitor the glacier changes in High Mountain Asia using different remote sensing data (e.g. Sentinel 1 and 2, ICESat-2 and very high resolution Pléiades data). Moreover, different historical data such as Corona KH-4 and Hexagon KH-9 Panoramic camera data should be processed based on existing pipelines.

The candidate should present the results at international meetings and project meeting both in Europe and China. Moreover he/she could participate in foreseen field work in different regions in High Mountain Asia.

Prerequisite is a PhD in remote sensing, geodesy, geography with emphasis on remote sensing or an equivalent qualification.
The candidate must hold a European passport.

The advertised position is an 80% position. However, the support of teaching is expected and will be paid in addition.
